Xtrema is different from other cookware because it is 100% ceramic. Without a metal core, ceramic will take longer to heat up. It is important to allow your cookware enough time to preheat before cooking, typically 3-5 minutes. 

Ceramic also insulates and holds heat better than its metal counterparts. This means that cooking on low-medium heat will be a more efficient and effective way to use your ceramic cookware.
