Heat your skillet on low to medium heat for 3-5 minutes to achieve even heating throughout the surface of the skillet. Every stove is different and may require adjustments to heat or the duration needed to preheat. 


Once the pan is preheated use oils like avocado, olive, coconut, ghee, butter, or tallow. The pan should sizzle when you add the oil/fat into the pan. Choose the oil/fat that suits your dish and make adjustments as needed.
